Bulgarian Web Association
Bulgarian Web Association (BWA) is a branch association, representing the interests of the web–professionals in Bulgaria. At present the BWA is the only association with activities directed to the benefit and defense of legal entities and natural bodies, working on design, arrangement, organisation, realisation and hosting of Internet sites, web–design and Internet advertisement. All the BWA activities are in service of the interests of the Bulgarian web-market, operating in conditions of free economy.
Bulgarian Web Association (BWA) was established in 2004 as an independent, voluntary public organization. The Web Association is open for everyone willing to become a member or to co–operate with it. Together with the TV World Foundation BWA organises the International Web Festival Albena. Since 2004 BWA also organizes the “Bulgarian Web Site of the Year” Competition.
Aims
- To explain to the members the newest requirements, legislation, normative documents, related to Internet and web
- To be part of legislative and national initiatives in the field of web & Internet
- To work for establishing professional standards among the members of the association for ethics, service and quality.
- To popularize Internet as communication channel in Bulgaria and the web as a type of media.
Mission
To participate in the development of the web–technologies for ensuring a good environment and standards for quality services and products. To promote the advantages of web and Internet among the business society, government and non-government organizations, present and future partners in EC and NATO.
Priorities
- Advertising Bulgaria as a market for creating innovative and quality web–applications.
- Generating business for its members
- Presenting BWA at different international forums, fairs, exhibitions
- Producing brochures, conducting research and other marketing activities
Activities:
- Expresses and defends statements of BWA upon normative documents and state decisions, related to the members` activities
- Organizes business meetings, seminars, exhibitions, courses and qualification workshops and other events in the country and abroad
- Contacts and assists for equal in rights attitude among members and regulatory bodies.
Membership
There are full and associated members of the BWA.
Full and associated members of the Association can be all physical persons and legal entities, without discrimination in terms of political, religious and ethnic background, who accept the goals of the Association and the means to achieve them, strictly observe its Statute and regularly pay the membership fee.
